Creative Direction
Deadwood for A Day’s March
Lead creative for the collaboration between A Day’s March and Deadwood Studios. Direction includes product and all marketing touchpoints in Stockholm and London.
The campaign includes five creatives in Stockholm and London – skateboarder Ali Boulala, chef Kit Paterson, artist Jessica Anne Woodley, stylist Harris Elliott and musician Linn Koch-Emmery.
Press release. The collaboration was founded on a mutual respect for each other's craftsmanship and a shared vision of long-term design and responsible production. Despite operating within different aesthetic expressions, they are united by a striving for quality and sustainability, which is now manifested in a collection where Deadwood's expertise in recycled leather meets A Day's March's sharp design.
“We have always admired Deadwood, both as friends and industry colleagues, so it felt natural to collaborate. We share a vision of timeless design and quality that lasts over time, and this collection is a concrete expression of that. It is also an opportunity for us to work with experts in leather and suede to create our dream products in those materials”, says Rasmus Elfton, Marketing Director at A Day's March.
Our goal has always been to challenge the fashion industry by creating sustainable garments without compromising style. The collaboration between us and A Day's March unites our two worlds - their clean design and our love for sustainable, recycled materials, Carl Ollson, co-founder, Deadwood.
The collection will be available at adaymarch.com and in stores (A Day's March, 24 Berwick Street, London and A Day's March Flagship Store, Kungsgatan 3, Stockholm).
The collection consists of three key pieces:
Flight Jacket – Classic jacket inspired by military pilot uniforms, updated with carefully crafted details and a sculpted fit.
Overshirt – Stylish overshirt in brown suede.
Bag – Durable and functional tote bag, designed for everyday use.
The Creatives in the Campaign
A Day's March and Deadwood converge in a desire to, in different ways, dress the creative community in the cities they operate in. The collection is fronted by five creators from different fields, each with a unique story and connection to the expression and values the collaboration is built on: authenticity and creativity.
Ali Boulala – A legend in skateboarding who broke through in the early 2000s for his exceptional and extravagant style both on and off the board. Boulala was a central figure in skateboarding's development during that time, and his skating has inspired many. He is one of the most influential skaters of all time. A person whose life has been marked by difficulties and tragedies, but who through determination and inner strength has managed to overcome most of it and found his way back. Ali is and remains an icon worldwide.
Kit Paterson – Chef who started at a young age and drew inspiration from every plate that was put in front of him. After living and cooking in both Paris and Madrid, as well as working at the Italian restaurant Manteca in London, his style has constantly evolved to where he is today. He currently works at Dove in Notting Hill and is a co-founder of "The Candid Club".
Linn Koch-Emmery – Musician who offers a journey through the entire emotional spectrum. Her raw indie rock blends confidence and vulnerability in a way that both reflects her inner world and creates a place for security and devotion. Since her debut with the EP Waves in 2018, she has made a strong impression on the indie scene with her honest and expressive storytelling. In 2021, she released her Grammy-nominated debut album Being the Girl, which confirmed her place as one of the most promising artists in the genre
Harris Elliott – Visual storyteller who uses beauty and counterculture as tools to explore stories that exist in the shadow of populism. Harris Elliott's studio work spans the socio-political aspects of fashion and cultural identities through film, music, art, exhibitions, and design. He has also collaborated with Hublot Japan, Damon Albarn, Gorillaz, Kae Tempest, Kasabian, and Takeo Kikuchi, among others. Associate Professor at the Royal College of Art and Central Saint Martins.
Jessica Anne Woodley – Artist who works in a variety of expressive forms. Her first collection, Eternal Child, consists of sculptures inspired by self-reflection and nurturing one's "inner child." Through her work, Jessica wants to spread joy and challenge the serious as well as encourage us to have a more playful and open relationship with life's truths.
